The 11th Demon The Ark of Chaos - Book Review

Image
I read this book a while ago and was captivated by the title, "The 11th Demon", as I have a huge interest in the dark and occult and horror/thriller stories. I didn't realize this at first but it is not the 1st book. There are more and now I want to read those. The main character, Johnathan Steele is a demon hunter who tracks and sends demons back to where they belong. When people Johnathan loves get into trouble, he goes after them. They are looking for an artifact, an ark, and both Johnathan and the demons are in a race to find it, but they are unsure of why and where or what it is. It is Suspenseful and action-filled as well as emotional. This is the 3rd book, but you don't necessarily need to go read the first 2 before this. The book develops nicely, introduces the character and explains the setting, time and situation enough for you to understand and enjoy the story. But it would be best if you did read them as well. This book is based off Christian princip

The Berenstain Bears God Bless Our Country - Book Review

Image
Ok so I've read the Berenstain Bears books since I was a kid. I've probably read them all. Now my 3 kids love them. I received this book a while ago as part of the BookLook Bloggers Program and it's getting close to the 4th of July again, so I got it out and I've read it to the kids again. I think it is an awesome book for many reasons, including: it's educational, thought-provoking, fun, bright and colorful, love the characters, easy to read, etc. The story is great. It is basicallyabout papa bear telling the kids how their "bear country" started. The pictures are well drawn and bright and the whole family reminds my kids of us. They can relate to these characters and this book also caused my kids to ask questions, which I love. I love how these books always have a lesson or some kind of moral lesson. What I really liked was that it introduced the ideas of faith assisting in the creation of their country and being a common principle. We also

Molkky Game Day Party - Memorial Weekend 2016

Image
Thanks to Tryazon and Tactic Games USA, we got to try the game, Molkky as part of a sponsored party during Memorial Day weekend! And it was soooo much fun! Molkky is the #1 game in Europe! It's based off the old Scandinavian "throwing game" and is made of solid European Hardwood. It came in a wooden crate box with handles and there are 12 pins, each numbered 1-12. The whole game set is beautiful and well made. It's lightweight but sturdy and each pin is round with a slanted top so you can see the numbers. I love how it looks and feels. It is pretty to me. I love woodsy type things and games and this is awesome. Basically, you set the pins up kind of like a bowling game. There is a diagram in the booklet that comes with it. Then you stand back at least 9-13 feet and throw the "throwing pin" and count the points from the pins you knock over. It says the first to 50 points wins. But we ended up playing to 100 points. There is a whole booklet full of

#ComeClean with Seventh Generation!

I have a right to know what’s in the products I buy! And So Do YOU! Have you even thought about what's in them? Do you realize what some of your favorite cleaners are really doing to your health? Well now it's time we learn the truth, the whole truth. What's in our products? What are we exposing ourselves, our families, our environment too?!? Help us to air out the cleaning products company's "dirty laundry." Seventh Generation and Myself and many others, are supporting the Cleaning Product Right to Know Act (H.R. 5205), which requires that manufacturers of both consumer household and industrial cleaning products would have to disclose ALL intentionally-added ingredients, including fragrance, on the labels on every product and even on their own websites. And that means EVERY ingredient! No matter how long the list, we deserve to know.  That way we can make better, more informed decisions on the products we want to use and make decisions on what we wi

OCD and Anxiety...What It is Really Like For Me Is Not A Joke!

I suffer from OCD, Anxiety and Agoraphobia. I do not wish any of this on Anyone! Let alone my own kids, who are already showing signs and symptoms. I have always loved to write and used to not mind being the center of attention in person, now more so just online. I love being the person people come to for advice and info. I am very much a people pleaser and an optimistic. I also seem to look on the bright side. Even when times are tough, I am really good at finding the little stuff to be thankful for or the stuff to keep me smiling. Most of that has to do with my little family. Especially my kids. I have had a pretty ok life. It has had some rough patches. Everyone handles life differently. I have been through some scary and uncomfortable situations and had to tough it out on some situations that a person should Never have to go through. I think all in all, after everything, I handle things pretty well. I can go through something and be distraught but still smile. That may be becau

Technology Has Taken Over Our Lives...

So I noticed tonight, just how "normal" it is for everyone to be so hooked on technology. I was sitting here watching a movie I was streaming from Netflix, playing on Facebook on my phone, while also completing a review on my laptop. I looked over at my husband, who was either perusing Craigslist or watching some random YouTube video. My 11 year old son was in his room watching a streamed movie and either playing on his Nintendo DS or his Kindle. My 5 year old daughter was playing in her room with my 1 year old daughter, and they were watching an old vhs but also playing on their DS and LeapPad! Wow. We all were doing multiple things and all tech based.  When did we become so dependent on technology?!? Don't get me wrong, I love it. It makes life easier, more interesting and fun. But I also miss the days of my childhood when there was less technology at hand.  It's funny to me now but when I tried to play a board game with my kids yesterday, they groaned at fir

Magazines: Where's The Substance Anymore!

Image
Ok so I love to read. I read pretty much anything, all the time: signs, books, magazines, product packaging and boxes, social media posts, websites, newspapers, cookbooks, Everything! If it has words, I read it. As a lover of reading, I am always buying and trying new magazines. As a girl/woman, I have an interest in fashion and cosmetics, etc. But I also like to read about people, cultures, travel and places, food and recipes, family fun activities and advice, inspiration, history, etc. So when I got offered a free trial subscription to Harper's Bazaar, I took it. I didn't really know much about it. But when I got the magazine, I decided I just may cancel it. And actually, I've found that I am actually really starting to hate ALL fashion magazines lately... Ok, so they obviously have a lot of people who like it because they have been in business for a long time and they definitely have a lot of ads which means that a lot of people and brands and companies want t
