Count Your Blessings with One Big Turkey - Children's Book Review!

My kids love books. They love to read, look at the pictures and have us parents read. We are always getting them new books, especially around the holidays. Recently we got and read One Big Turkey by Anne Vittur Kennedy and published by Thomas Nelson.



This is a really cute, "Country Your Blessings" book. Its a hard board book that has a fun turkey like shape that kids will love. Children can count along with the turkey and it's animal friends. The book is written in simple language with one line rhymes on each page, as well as a number for counting and fun, colorful illustrations.

In the book are lots of cute animals, that my children love to point out and look at. It also talks about different foods for the animals and the pictures clearly illustrate the story well. The animals really are precious and realistic looking. They have relevant facial expressions and the kids love pointing them out.



We really loved the bright, autumn colors. Really fitting for a Turkey Day story. Plus this book is great for teaching children and sparking a fire in them to look for and count their own blessings. Then, at the end, when everyone is going to sleep, it reads, "we pray before we rest," and my kids want to pray too.

I have 3 children, ages 1, 5 and 11, but they all loved this book. Even though we still have a few months until Thanksgiving, it's already one of their favorites and I have read it a lot so far.



What I love about the book is that it is simple enough for early readers to read on their own, or to practice teaching a child to read and the book itself is thick and sturdy. There are no sharp edges or thin pages that can easily be ripped. And it teaches children that hard work is necessary but to be thankful for everything you have and can do, and those around you.

I loved this Bamboo Charcoal Soap. It was definitely a scentalicious experience. The first thing I noticed was the scent. It smelled herbal and fresh but not too strong or overpowering. When I used it, I felt like I was in a spa with the scent and the feel of it. It's made of all natural ingredients and is great for people with skin issues like psoriasis and eczema or sensitive skin. It is different looking, as it is a black soap, but I like these so much more than other factory processed soaps now because of the natural ingredients and skin benefits.
